Shirley J. Sutherland Alberts, 70, of Machesney Park passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
Born March 8, 1945 in Beloit, WI to Emmett and Bernice (Newman) Sutherland. Married Gerald Alberts on April 6, 1963 in Rockton. Retired from Cub Foods. Shirley enjoyed reading, and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include husband, Jerry Alberts; children, Terri Alberts, Thomas Alberts, Tammie Alberts; granddaughter, Jessie Sager; brother, Ronney (Rita) Sutherland; sisters, Sally Sutherland Truitt, Sue Sutherland Bowers; several loving nieces and nephews; and numerous pets. Predeceased by parents; and sister, Nancy Sutherland.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, please keep visiting the Honquest Funeral Home website and checking the Rockford Register Star for updated information. Cremation rites were accorded and a private burial were held.
