Linda “Lyn” Darlene Richardson was born Linda Earl in Rockford Illinois on September 5th 1945 and passed away in Hamilton, Montana on February 12th, 2020. Lyn grew up in the small town of Rockton Illinois with her older brother Gene and younger sister Becky. She was very active in high school and took part in many activities including Girls Athletics Association, Future Homemakers of America, Pep Club, Chorus, Student council, and
was on the cheer leading squad where she led the team as the head Majorette.
In 1963 she met and later married Lawrence “Larry” Richardson on October 10th, 1964. Together they had three children, Shelli, Mike, and Lans. Lyn spent her married years as a stay at home wife and mother and would help with the many business ventures she and Larry started. In the fall of 1976 the family moved from Illinois to the rural town of Stevensville, Montana.
She was never afraid to help tend their cows, change irrigation pipes, saddle horses, or get on the lawn mower. A warm meal was always on the table each evening, the laundry was always washed and folded, and the house was always clean. Jigsaw puzzles were a big part of her life. There was never a time when she didn’t have a puzzle spread across the dining room table or a card table in the living room. In 1989 she and Larry parted ways and she started work as a certified nursing assistant at a local nursing home. That became her new career for the next 10 years.
Around 2012 Lyn developed a form of dementia that eventually claimed her life. She resided at Discovery Care Centre in Hamilton the last couple years of her life. The disease robbed her of most of her abilities except a good attitude and a warm smile. Lyn is survived by her two sons, Michael (Kathy), Lans (Amber), seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and her sister Becky. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, daughter Shelli, and her brother Gene.
Lyn is now at peace in the arms of Christ. She was on loan to us here on earth and has now returned home. Come and celebrate her life on Saturday February 22nd at 11:00am at Daly Leach Chapel in Hamilton, MT with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating. Be prepared to take home a puzzle in remembrance of Lyn. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s foundation. The family would like to thank the staff at Discovery Care Centre, Marcus Daly Hospice, and the team at Daly Leach Chapel for caring for her through her final stage of life
