Kathleen served many years as Ombudsman for the families of Deployed submariners. While in Hawaii, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business. After several cross-country moves the family bought their first home in Kingston, Washington. Later that year she started her own business. Kathleen owned and operated Kingston Tax Service until it was sold. Not ready to retire, she started another tax service business, KATAX, in Port Gamble, Washington. She retired from taxes in 2015. During her many years in the tax business, she earned her Masters Degree in Taxation. Kathleen was a member of Washington State Tax Consultants for over 30 years, where she led numerous training sessions on tax and served as President for two terms.
Kathleen was an actress and member of the Poulsbo Players who perform at the Jewell Box Theatre. She was also an avid Bridge player and member of the North Kitsap Marathon Bridge Group and enjoyed casino gaming. Kathleen is survived by her husband Alex of Kingston, WA, brother Michael Coldewey of Richardson, TX, sister Susan McPherron of Midland, TX and numerous nieces and nephews’. At her request, there will be no formal ceremony. Her wish was that, in their own time and place, her many friends take a flower in their hand and whisper "Good Bye".
