Glenn E Blair
September 6, 1945 - October 27, 2024
Glenn Edward Blair, 79, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 6, 1945 in Beloit, WI, the son of Edward and Bernice (Miller) Blair. Glenn was a 1963 Hononegah High School graduate. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Army, 44th Signal Battalion as a Radio Relay Operator. Glenn married Patricia Gustina on December 23, 1967 in Faith Lutheran Church, South Beloit, IL.
Glenn was formerly employed by Eagle Foods and then Owen Vending until his retirement. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, was an avid NASCAR, and L.A. Dodger baseball fan. In his free time he could often be found reading books on history, sports, or enjoying old western movies. Glenn cherished family trips up north to Tomahawk, WI. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events, which included: numerous hockey, baseball, and travel fast pitch softball games. In addition, he enjoyed observing them playing board games, cards, building legos, and following their passion for reading.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia Blair of South Beloit, IL; children, Brian (Sarah) Blair of Westfield, IN and Shelly Carson of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Delaney and Colin Blair, Andrew Carson, and Allison (Jeremy) Mulder; sister, Jeneane Kiser; mother-in-law, Dorothy Gustina; son-in-law, Jim Carson; brothers-in-law, Richard (LaRay) Gustina and Wayne (Prisha) Gustina; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Glenn was predeceased by his parents; brother-in-law, Donald Kiser; father-in-law, Larry Gustina; nephews, Allen and Daniel Kiser.
The family would like to give a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to Glenn.
Private family services for Glenn will proceed burial in Rockton Cemetery, Rockton, IL.
